The Seven Days of Creation

In the beginning,
God created the heavens and the earth

on the first day there was no sound;
and from unkempt skies
rain fell
with our dreams and stagnant water
and there was no light.

on the second day the sky cleared
of everything we ever dreamed of,
and fell to earth

moving restlessly at the bottom
of the ocean)

on the third day we landed on our feet

and we raped the savanna mercilessly,
because we knew we would burn in hell
no matter how we begged

on the fourth day we gave birth to
constellations, that lit up the sky
and aurora borealis wept across

even when our bones;
rustic and gold and ivory-laced
lay forgotten at the bottom of the ocean
and organisms move slowly near us
in the seaweed and rock pools
and pearls who sailors ne'er saw
destined to become something
(she said her name was Evolution)
and life is stirring, on every side

The Hosts of SeraphimA century passed in the blink of an eye
like celestial water running through your fingers
in a stream you would live to see die

(the world moved on
and you had to watch it go)

You forgot everything that happened here
and try to remember what He promised it would be like
(it only ends once)

"Where is everyone? everyone and everything
you hold dear?"

(and time is all relative, I promise;
forever isn't that long)

"I watched them all die."

I took Jacobs cork/wine bottle analogy/metaphor and made it literal, ha. Jacobs twin is one of the sexiest beings I've ever witnessed. As is Jacob. Man, I am repulsed by the very idea of incest, but come on...that would be one hot incestuous relationship.
